Productivity is Key - Please fill in the Lancashire Productivity Survey 2017

“Productivity isn't everything, but, in the long run, it is almost everything. A country’s ability to improve its standard of living over time depends almost entirely on its ability to raise its output per worker", wrote Nobel prize-winner Paul Krugman.

The Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and the Lancashire County Council (LCC) have commissioned a team of senior academics from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) to examine the productivity of the Lancashire economy, which has been lagging behind other regions.

The key aim is to help your organisation to increase productivity, especially in view of uncertain times ahead post-Brexit. This research will also identify policy initiatives for our region to grow and become more prosperous in the future.

By taking part, you have the unique opportunity to find out new ideas about what works at work, share best practice, get your voice heard and much more. If you have never participated in surveys, or if you have not filled in a survey for a while, please make this the one you do take part in.

An exciting questionnaire has been developed, capturing cutting-edge modern business issues, to help us understand your organisation and help the LEP and LCC know how to support Lancashire SMEs in becoming more productive. At the end of the research, we could be sending you a copy of the final report and an invitation to a free seminar - if you would like to receive these, please tick the relevant boxes towards the end of the questionnaire.

The survey is open until Thursday 31 August 2017 and we encourage you to complete it at your earliest convenience; we also hope you don't mind us reminding you about this. It is because your response is absolutely vital to the success of this productivity research. Only if a minimum of three hundred organisations fill it in fully, then our data analysis can have meaningful results. They have worked for many months to develop this research, but the harsh reality is expecting a one percent response rate.

So, would you please be among those kind people helping our Lancashire economy? They would be most grateful if you could support this significant research project by completing this questionnaire. It should not take longer than 15 minutes to fill in and your contribution would be extremely useful. All responses are strictly confidential.

It is advised that the survey be completed by the Manager / Owner who is mainly involved with the performance or strategy of the organisation.
