Pagefast is a relationship business

Back in 1989, they started small, with a mind to developing relationships and seeing where they could go. They’re now Lancaster’s biggest lithographic and digital printer – and they’re still working for the client who gave us their first break.

It hasn’t all been easy going, of course. The recent Pagefast story hinges on a catastrophic flood in December 2015, when the nearby River Lune burst its banks and overwhelmed our press room with three feet of river water and mud.

Taking their cue from Sun Tzu (author of ‘The Art of War’), they found opportunity in the chaos and rebuilt from the ground up, restocking our works with a state-of-the-art litho press, digital plate setter, guillotine, booklet maker and other ancillary equipment. With this new kit set alongside our high-end digital press (which kept its feet dry in the deluge), they are better placed than ever to meet any requests you make of us, printing faster, greener, and more cost-effectively than before. Oh, and you can still take reassurance from the fact that they continue to print to Fogra industry standard ISO 12647.

They handle a lot of conventional commercial print – stationery, brochures, advertising materials and so on – but a large part of our business lies in the provision of contract publishing services. They produce a diverse range of periodicals, ranging from glossy A4 magazines to a weekly newspaper. Print runs range from the high hundreds to many thousands.

Because of their publishing contracts, they are unusual in being able to offer design, editing and mailing services in addition to print and print finishing. Theirr service is fully customizable. For some customers, they simply print from finished artwork, fold and stitch if required, and trim and box up their order. At the other end of the scale, for several of their magazine customers, they do everything except source their raw material. In all cases, final approval of copy and design rests with the customer.

And their belief that this is a relationship business has not changed from day one. Across the Pagefast team they have decades of experience in all areas of print and publishing; they’re never happier than when they are sharing that experience to help you get the best out of your print.
