ICS strengthens its SME accountancy services with four new senior appointments
Lancashire-based contractor accountancy firm ICS is going from strength to strength with four new senior managers joining the team.
Matthew Blane is now head of sales, while Sam Price has been appointed as corporate account manager, and Nick Foster and Clark Ross both join as business partnership managers.
The recruitment of four new senior team members is a key part of ICS’ recently revitalised offering of accounting and administration services for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Matthew Blane has 22 years’ experience across all aspects of sales, 17 of which he spent in the recruitment industry, and he has also worked in the oil and gas sector abroad in Australia and Aberdeen. His appointment as head of sales will see him leading a 12-strong team.
Matthew said: “ICS has a great reputation within the industry – a reputation that is built on providing compliant solutions and great service, both of which are core to my values. I have known our MD, John Lyon, since he started the business 15 years ago. So from a distance, I have seen ICS grow from strength to strength and the foundation that John has created is something I was keen to be a part of. Joining a business that is led by such driven and likeminded people is inspirational and I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
Newly-appointed corporate account manager, Sam Price, will be focusing on the SME side of the firm. Sam said: “ICS is not a traditional accountancy practice. We approach things differently with our client relationships. We are personal and proactive, and our clients know they can pick up the phone to us at any time if they have a question. It is that personal aspect and going above and beyond what is expected that means we can offer something different. I am passionate about helping local businesses grow and I am looking forward to going beyond the basics of accounting for clients in my role at ICS.”
Nick Foster and Clark Ross will be working alongside each other as business partnership managers.
Nick said: “The aspect of the role I enjoy most is finding leads and winning new business to grow our customer base. Of course, it is equally important to manage existing relationships and nurture our existing clients. I know ICS does this very well and I am looking forward to working with the team to drive ICS’ growth plans.”
Clark added: “I was impressed by ICS at the interview stage for my role – I could tell it was a business that matched my desire and drive and I was sold on the company culture. My role will focus on spreading the word about ICS and its USP by bringing in new business and maintaining relationships.”
John Lyon, managing director of ICS, said: “The combined experience of Matthew, Sam, Nick and Clark will certainly bolster the business development side of ICS. They will all play key roles in driving the company forward in our plans to spread the word about our strengthened services for SMEs and we are all extremely pleased to welcome them to the ICS team.”
Established in 2002, ICS provides accountancy, administration and payroll services to contractors, freelancers and small businesses across the UK. Based in Lancaster, Lancashire, the firm currently employs 40 local people.
