Film First Is Pretty As A Picture
The premiere of the world’s first fully oil painted feature film will be broadcast live into The Dukes cinema on October 9.
Loving Vincent (12A) about van Gogh is made up of 65,000 frames produced by 125 professional oil painters.
Among the actors voicing the various animated characters in Loving Vincent are Chris O’Dowd, John Sessions and Aidan Turner.
It will be beamed live from the National Gallery and will be followed by a satellite question and answer session with special guests.
Loving Vincent explores the tortured life and controversial death of the famous artist who cut off his ear and shot himself while painting at the easel.
A year after his death, Armand Roulin, a regular model for the artist, becomes obsessed with van Gogh’s death, caused by a bullet wound to the stomach. Was it an accident or suicide?
Tickets for Loving Vincent, which is screened at 7pm on October 9, are priced £7.50/£6.50 concessions.
