Chamber Chat – Mike Marczynski
As a fairly recent recruit to The Chamber Board of Directors, it’s really given me a fascinating insight into how the Chamber operates, how and why actions are taken, and why we as a Chamber actually exist!
You can see from the recent Expo how all the team from the exhibitors, sponsors, staff and all helpers at all levels, really pulled together to make this a cracking event in the Chamber calendar. From my own perspective, as a local business owner (www.checkpoint-safety.com) supplying our products nationally and internationally, it certainly makes it a lot easier to deal with the immense amount of paperwork required e.g. on exports, when we have the assistance of the team at Chamber HQ. It’s probably fair to say that we couldn’t operate without that major support.
Additionally, via the Chamber, there are many opportunities for staff training in all sorts of areas of business, that come through the Chamber. I attended one such event back in the summer, and was so impressed with the quality of professional training and salesmanship, that I arranged, via The Chamber, for the tutor to come and give the same vibrant talk (suitably personalised towards Checkpoint products!) to all the sales and sales admin staff at our offices in Carnforth. It was a very successful event indeed, and helped to give staff members extra confidence both personally and in our products when going out into the big wide world.
The point being made here is that The Chamber is more than a great networking hub, it’s simply great to be a part of it, great to support it, and great to get so much out of it!
