24th Feb 2012 - HELP US SPEND £650K An awareness event for City Centre businesses was staged by Living Lancaster last week to promote plans for a Business Improvement District.
The full day “drop-in” held at The Borough offered over 300 city centre businesses the opportunity to find out more about the scheme which aims to raise over £650,000 to improve the business economy in the City Centre. 26th Jan 2012 - BUSINESSES TO BE CONSULTED ON CITY CENTRE IMPROVEMENTS
Businesses are being given the opportunity to develop their own ideas to improve Lancaster city centre. The ideas will form part of an action plan that will then be put to the vote. A successful vote will allow the city centre to become a Business Improvement District (BID) which will generate around £240,000 a year to be spent on turning the ideas into reality.

Business people from in and around Lancaster City Centre gathered this week to hear how a new business improvement district could help boost trade. Representatives from local businesses have joined forces to form an action group under the banner of “living Lancaster”. They plan to help rejuvenate a “tired looking” environment, increase footfall and visitor numbers and make Lancaster’s city centre a safer and more attractive place. The group aims to win the hearts and minds of fellow businesses encouraging them to get on board to put their money where their mouth is and make the city centre a better place to do business.
