Women Mean Business Conference 2010

Lancaster District Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Network has teamed up with North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce EVE Network to bring you "Women Mean Business Conference 2010.  The event will include a range of speakers, refreshments, lunch and of course that all important opportunity to network.

Speakers include:

Sandy Lindsay FCIM, MCIM, DipM — Group Managing Director, Tangerine

Named North West PR Professional of the Year 2006 by the CIPR, Sandy started

her marketing career 19 years ago, moved into PR consultancy five years later and

launched her own PR consultancy in 2002, which was named NW PR Consultancy

of the Year 2008.

With 30 people, Tangerine offers PR Consultancy, Public Affairs Consultancy,

Event Management, Digital and crisis/issues management support to a wide range

of clients across the UK including ICI Paints, Atkins, Wilkinsons, Dulux Decorator

Centres and Manchester United Soccer School.

Gill Coupland is the co-founder and Director of Angels Housekeeping, a social

enterprise which provides housework and shopping services for elderly people,

to help them stay as independent as possible.

The company was born out of the need for domestic care services in Leeds following

the City Council’s withdrawal from the provision of these services.

The business is able to provide its services at very affordable rates to elderly people

through its price weighting which charges a slightly higher rate for services to

young professionals and companies.

Dr. Julie Bradshaw MBE is one of the world’s top long distance and marathon

swimmers, holding 18 World Records to date Julie first swam the channel when

only 15 and went on to include her amazing English Channel solo swim in 2002,

completed in only 14 hours and 18 minutes. Born and bred in Blackpool, nickname

“Lady of The Lakes” for all her record-breaking swims in the Lake District nominated

for Sunday Times Women’s Inspiration Award and in 2006, came her MBE

for ‘Services to Swimming and Charity’. That year Loughborough University conferred

upon her an Honorary Degree and in 2007 Julie was inducted into the Swimming

Hall of Fame in the USA.
