There is an examination at the conclusion of the course and a certificate is awarded on completion of the training, which is valid for three years and has H.S.E approval. In 2004, in the UK, 40 million working days were lost as a result of occupational injury and ill-health. Yet most injuries and incidents of ill-health can be avoided.
